The Passion by Martin Berasategui serves mainly Spanish cuisine and is operated by the renowned chef. Situated in the Palma Real Resort, Playa de Bávaro, the restaurant offers high-class dining in a beautiful setting.
Choose from a full tasting menu of seven courses, with exotic choices like huitlacoche truffle with roast suckling pig or squid tempura with curry, or pick and choose from a variety of dishes, all prepared with the freshest local ingredients.
Chef Berasategui has been awarded seven Michelin stars and was the winner of Trip Advisor’s Travelers’ Choice Award in 2013. In addition, Passion’s chef and line cooks have all worked for him in Spain, so they’ve been tried and tested.
La Palapa by Eden Roc
One of the best restaurants in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic is La Palapa by Eden Roc. A beautifully decorated and elegant restaurant at a beach club, it’s located in Cap Cana, Juanillo, with a great view of the ocean.
Their diverse menu lists dishes ranging from sushi and a variety of seafood to Italian. Dress to impress and try their veal consommé with oxtail and cabbage cappelletti, or the open ravioli with river prawns, sautéed zucchini, and rosemary emulsion.
Zen
Zen is the place to go when you’re craving Chinese or sushi. You not only get delicious food, but the chefs entertain diners with a show by preparing dishes in an open area while you watch.
As Zen specializes in Asian cuisine, they offer all the typical dishes, such as soups, fried rice, sweet and sour, lo mein, chop suey, and sushi rolls. They’re located in the Hard Rock Hotel.
The Jellyfish
The Jellyfish is a reasonably priced and popular restaurant that specializes in fresh fish and shellfish dishes. They also offer a variety of international dishes. Situated on the beach in Bavaro, the setting is very scenic and romantic.
It’s a favorite spot for couples and won Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence in 2013.
Chez Mon Ami
If you love French food or want to try something different from the typical Caribbean fare, Chez Mon Ami is a good choice. Winner of the Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor in 2013, this restaurant offers a variety of European-style and seafood dishes at reasonable prices.
Try the French snails, lemon chicken, or beef carpaccio. They are located in Plaza Nautica, Bavaro.
La Yola
La Yola offers a very diverse menu of Mediterranean style food with a lot of seafood dishes. Lobster, crab, and conch, to name a few, as well as popular beef, chicken, and pasta dishes. This restaurant’s setting is unique and trendy, as it’s built on a shipping boat.
You will have great views of a marina and the ocean as you enjoy your meal. La Yola was the recipient of Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence and the AAA Three Diamond Award in 2013.
Carbon Caribbean Cuisine
Carbon Caribbean Cuisine is a small restaurant on Calle Gri Gri that serves a variety of Caribbean cuisine, including Jamaican, Puerto Rican, and Cuban. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxed and has a real island feel.
You can opt for the local cuisine or try one of the other traditional Caribbean dishes to experience the flavors of another island.
