This website was born out of two brothers’ idea of providing reliable information about the most visited city in the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana. We are Aristides and Carlos Guerra and we live in Santo Domingo Dominican Republic, just a couple of hours away from Punta Cana. We know our way around the country, especially Punta Cana, since we started this site and are committed to provide You with the most up to date information relevant to visitors and locals alike.

We have also created a facebook page so we can have a more direct contact with our audience and, even though we are not travel agents and are occupied with our regular jobs, we will do everything we can to help you with any problem you may have while planning your vacations or when you arrive.

Official date set

The fifth edition of the Punta Cana Carnival has its official time and place: on Saturday march 10 2012 at the “November 1st” Boulevard which is located in Punta Cana Village.

An event, at which the participation of over a thousand “carnavaleros” around the country is expected,  promises to show different cities’ best parades. There will also be an international presence, with troupes representing Aruba, Haiti, Puerto Rico and Curacao.

The culture and folklore of different parts of the country  will be displayed during the parade, with bright colorful costumes and dances for the locals and tourists to enjoy. The Punta Cana Carnival is an event organized by the Punta Cana Group since 2008 and is an initiative of these entrepreneurs to promote tourism in Punta Cana.

Up, up and away!

A new tour in Punta Cana attracts the more adventurous, a hot air balloon trip, a quiet overfly of the Bavaro and Punta Cana area  to see the beautiful beaches and landscapes from above. This hot air balloon service in Punta Cana has been offered by the Dominican Balloons company (Domball) for several months now and the initiative has strong support from the Dominican Ministry of Tourism.

So far, Russian tourists have accounted for up to 90% of passengers who have purchased these flights, thus the Ministry of Tourism has announced that it will participate in the upcoming International Tourism Fair to be held in Russia to promote the hot air balloon experience and attract more Russian tourists.

There are two hot air balloon flights any given day, one in the morning (dawn) and another one in the evening (dusk). The trip comprises:

• Arrival at the takeoff point
• Preparation and inflation of the balloon
• Briefing and drinks
• Takeoff and flight
• Landing and packing of the balloon
• Food (breakfast or refreshments, depending on the shift)
• Champagne toast
• Flight certificate

For two days of pure adrenaline, national and international kitesurfers showed off their talent over the waters of Playa Blanca in Punta Cana during the third version of the Kite Fest Punta Cana. The exhibition took place in the beach area of the Playa Blanca restaurant, property of Punta Cana Resort & Club, which counts with the ideal wind condition for kitesurfers of all levels.
