How to get to your hotel

Getting from the Punta Cana airport to area hotels is a snap and it does not have to cost an arm and a leg.

Planning for transportation in advance can sometimes save travelers a bit of money, but many visitors can also do well by simply grabbing a taxi at the airport.

It is a great idea to research the rates offered by Punta Cana taxis before even leaving home.

Travelers can arrange to be picked up by a local taxi service in advance, or rely on one of the many taxi services that will be waiting outside the airport (although this can be the priciest option).

There are many transportation options and the prices vary widely by service.

Many travelers book private transfers which is the most comfortable way of transportation from the airport while others choose a shared transfer on a bus even though a shared airport transfer means waiting for other travelers to arrive before the shuttle will leave the airport and stopping at multiple resorts before reaching each visitor’s final destination.

Limo Service

People excited to get their vacation started quickly and in style will often reserve a more luxurious Punta Cana airport transfer service.

Many Punta Cana resorts are exclusive and stylish, so why not arrive in elegance? Reserve a limousine before arriving at the airport and a polished, professional driver will greet your party personally, escorting guests to an impressive black limousine to be whisked off to a luxurious hotel.

Even for those who do not rent a limo Punta Cana offers convenient, stylish ways to arrive at hotels.

Some travelers choose to rent a car, such as a rugged SUV or elegant sedan, to have at their disposal throughout their stay. This not only makes for an efficient airport transfer, but also allows more in depth exploration of the region.

The ride back to the airport

Getting back to the airport can be just as easy as arriving was. Airport transportation for the return trip are often made in advance, when traveling by private or shared airport shuttle, guests often make their return reservation on the day they arrive or when they book online.

Taxis are plentiful in Punta Cana and can be summoned on a moment’s notice for an airport transfer.

Those wishing to be whisked away from their Punta Cana resort in elegant opulence can again opt for a limousine, but they should definitely take care to reserve this service well in advance.

Airport transfers are just one small detail in every Punta Cana vacation. With a little planning, they can be convenient and affordable.

  1. Hello. I’ve recently read one review that said NOT to use the”shared transport” back to the airport because you have to leave your resort to early. It also stated that a taxi would be $30. USD. If our return flight is listed at 2:30 p.m., do you we would lose a considerable amount of good resort time that day if we Do take that shared transport? Would really appreciate your help with this, asap, as we will cancel that reservation if so.
We also reserved it for our arrival day-do you agree it’s a lot of lost resort time then, too?
We would be traveling to the area SOUTH of the bavaro resorts.
    Thank you!

    • Hotels in Punta Cana are clumped together with few exceptions so it doesn’t take that long to drop passengers off or pick them up. If money is not an issue and you want to be at the resort until the last possible minute then taxi or private transportation is a good idea… if money is not an issue go for private transport or taxi on the day of arrival and departure. Enjoy!
